Center Admins can use the Admin Panel to add individuals to their teams in Pillar. Center Admins can only assign new users to one of the Teams within the Center admin group. If you do not see the correct Team, please contact SRC staff.
Please note that if a user already exists in Pillar Science, you will be prevented from creating a duplicate record. If a person already exists in Pillar Science, you can simply add them to the appropriate project: How to Add a Student to a Project in your Center.
Add new Pillar User
- Click on your name, then the Admin Panel.
- Click on Teams.
- Find the Team that the person should be assigned to.
- Verify that the person is not already assigned to the Team. Be sure to check for either the student's name or email address in the list of Team Members.
- If not found, proceed...
- Click on Users. Click the Create User button.
- Follow the prompts to add your individual. Include first name, last name, and email address. Please review this important note regarding university email addresses.
- Select the correct professor's Team for the person. You can only assign new users to one of the Teams you manage. If you do not see the correct Team, please contact SRC staff.
- Select the Team role, either Member or Admin, when adding the person to the Team. Team Admins can add and remove others from the Team. Team Admins can also run Team reports.
- Select User Category.
- Professor: Leads the project
- Student: undergrad, graduate, or postdoctoral researcher
- Employee: any non-professor or non-student role, such as a university admin or an instructor
Couldn't Invite this User
If you receive this message when attempting to add a new user to Pillar, it means that the user record has already been created. You can move on to the next step: How to Add a Student to a Project in your Center
