We use a person's email address as a “key” to uniquely identify individuals. However, many universities allow multiple variants of an email address. For example, a person might use both david.bowie@ncstate.edu and david.bowie@ece.ncstate.edu. When interacting with SRC, SRC.org, Pillar Science, and OpenWater, you must select and use a single email address. Variants are not supported. If a variant of an email address is used, a duplicate record will be created in our systems.
Your Own Account
When signing up for your OWN account, please keep these rules for email addresses in mind.
- Use a valid email address for your organization. Use of anonymous or web-based email domains like gmail.com or hotmail.com will prevent you from being granted access.
- Use only a single email address, no variants, when creating an account at www.src.org and when accessing Pillar Science.
Your Student's Account
Please keep these rules for student email addresses in mind.
- Use a valid email address for their organization. Use of anonymous or web-based email domains like gmail.com or hotmail.com will prevent your student from being granted access.
- When adding your student, be sure to use the same email address variant that the student uses. The student must use that same email address when creating an account at www.src.org and when accessing Pillar Science.
